Agri-Valley Communications (AVCI) Network Administrator

Summary/Objective:

The Network Administrator is responsible for engineering and designing all aspects of the Agri-Valley Communications, Inc. telecommunications network. The Network Administrator needs to possess a general working knowledge of all services provided by Agri-Valley Communications, Inc. including but not limited to 4G LTE, DSL, Wireless Data, and fiber to the customer.Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for the engineering, design and maintenance of new and current network infrastructures.
  2. Performs research and investigates new technologies applicable to the network and internal/external customers.
  3. Creates and maintains documentation, including but not limited to network mapping, MOPs, diagrams, etc.
  4. Responsible for administering, as set forth by company policies and procedures, all security measures to control internal/external access to the corporate network.
  5. Assist in resolving network related issues.
  6. Serve as Tier I response for network issues and as Tier III for all escalated customer complaints.
  7. Responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting the performance/capacity of the network.
  8. Communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  9. Perform job duties within Company health and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Training and at least five years of on-the- job experience.
  2. Expert understanding of BGP, Ethernet switching, fiber optics, CLI, UNIX/LINUX, Cisco, HP, etc.
  3. Extensive knowledge in all aspects of internal and external network security.
  4. Working experience with various fiber transport equipment.
  5. Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, NAT and routing protocols (BGP, iBGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS and RIP).
  6. Strong Cisco networking experience.
  7. Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize projects and establish schedules for timely completion.
  8. Ability to work independently and/or with a technical team under tight deadlines.
  9. Successfully complete pre-employment background screening.

Agri-Valley Services (AVS) Customer Service Representative

Summary/Objective:

The Agri-Valley Services Customer Service Representative shall provide customer service and support to our customers as well as potential customers through personal interaction, telephone conversations and email messages. As part of the AVS customer service team, the Customer Service Representative shall maintain office records, receive payments, create reports, assist with billing as well as other assigned tasks.

Essential Functions:

  1. Answer telephone calls, assist walk-in customers and reply to email messages.
  2. Assure customer needs are addressed promptly with quality service that, if possible, exceeds the customers’ expectations.
  3. Provide basic technical support for connectivity.
  4. Address questions and concerns regarding customer accounts.
  5. Enter data into billing systems and/or server.
  6. Understand and enforce company policies and procedures with regards to customers.
  7. Address customer concerns, needs, complaints, questions and compliments with management team.
  8. Assist and support sales staff.
  9. Assist and support billing, collections and other administrative areas.

Agri-Valley Services (AVS) Field Technician/Installer

Summary/Objective:

The Field Technician/Installer is responsible for all Agri-Valley Services wireless installations and service calls. The position works closely with customers to resolve service related and equipment issues ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  1. Install and troubleshoot customer connections on the broadband wireless network.
  2. Perform pre-installation site surveys to determine service availability at a given location.
  3. Gather Customer Premise equipment from cancelled accounts.
  4. Provide second tier customer support as needed.
  5. Maintain the base stations and other wireless network equipment for the wireless broadband service.
  6. Perform monthly site inspections of broadband sites.
  7. Monitor performance reports.
  8. Maintain detailed and accurate records and documents.
  9. Provide accurate and timely reports as required by manager.
  10. Assist with the cellular network when needed.
  11. Perform job duties within Company health and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. High-comfort level with heights, climbing ladders and TV towers, navigating roofs as well as confined spaces/crawlspaces.
  3. Basic understanding of radio frequency preferred.
  4. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively with little supervision required.
  5. Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain or snow.
  6. Possess good troubleshooting and organizational skills.

Agri-Valley Services (AVS) Wireless Service Coordinator

Summary/Objective:

The Wireless Service Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and scheduling of Agri-Valley Services, Inc. truNet and FiberNet installations and service calls. The position works closely with company technical personnel, customer service and sales representatives to maintain high customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  1. Utilize service study maps to determine best service type for the customer.
  2. Schedule and coordinate all service calls and new truNet and Fibernet installations as received.
  3. Prepare for customer installations by programming new equipment, packaging and mailing equipment when necessary and requesting Miss Dig services before on-site work begins.
  4. Work with customers to remotely activate indoor equipment once it is received.
  5. Prepare outdoor equipment for installation and work with technician to remotely activate once installed.
  6. Responsible for the ordering, storage, and use of BEC’s, SIM’s and other installation equipment.
  7. Troubleshoot, diagnose and respond to customer issues and take corrective action to resolve in a timely manner.
  8. Create and maintain dispatch service tickets for all service calls.
  9. Maintain proper customer paperwork such as service invoice logs, filing of service orders and updating database information and customer files with new work performed.
  10. Facilitate communication between sales departments, customer service staff and customers on technical issues.
  11. Prepare paperwork and coordinate returns for all manufacture warranty parts.
  12. Perform job duties within Company health and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Trade school degree or 2 years of related experience in customer service, dispatching, project management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  2. Possess strong written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
  3. Ability to handle multiple tasks with high levels of accuracy with minimal supervision.
  4. Geographical knowledge of service area or map reading skills.
  5. Ability to perform job duties in a professional and respectful manner when working with customers and co-workers.
  6. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Pigeon Telephone Company

 

Pigeon Telephone Company (PTC) Outside Plant Locator Technician

Summary/Objective:

The Locator Technician is responsible for identifying and marking Pigeon Telephone Company buried fiber optic cable by referencing utility prints and using specific locating equipment. The position requires a high level of accuracy in order to minimize accidental damage to the Pigeon Telephone fiber network due to construction activities.

Essential Functions:

  1. Read and understand utility maps, prints, and aerial imagery to assist in identification of underground fiber assets.
  2. Prioritize work activities by reviewing all locate requests to determine travel route and timeliness.
  3. Operate and maintain handheld detection equipment in the designed manner.
  4. Mark the location of underground fiber assets on roadways, private property, and other locations, as appropriate and needed, using required spray paints, flags and other equipment.
  5. Periodically remove and replace manhole lids, weighing between 100- and 300- pounds, using a manhole cover removal tool.
  6. Daily contact with utility managers, team leaders, homeowners, and contractors discussing locate issues.
  7. Perform outside plant route maintenance activities, of which includes digging holes for posts and removing and replacing marker signs.
  8. Maintain plant facilities, company vehicle and communicate changes or issues to management.
  9. Perform job duties within Company health and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma or GED required.
  2. Experience in the telecommunications industry preferred.
  3. Work independently with minimal supervision.
  4. Ability to read and understand prints and other engineering documentation.
  5. Ability to document work activities using laptop computer and transmit completed tickets.
  6. Excellent verbal and communications skills.
  7. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  8. Meet MDOT requirements for medium duty commercial vehicles.
  9. Successfully complete pre-employment background screening.
